Find out the truth about home income kits!

Need Money Scam: Home Based Business

The ads are everywhere for the Home Based Business. It is a product which promotes ways to make money online and claims it is different than all other online money making plans. However, the Terms for the sale of the Home Based Business neglect to let buyers know the hidden charges. Read on..

The Home Based Business ads are recylcling the same ad pages used for Blackbelt Profits and the Home Income System. Fake news sites with even faker people claiming they make $5000-7000.00 a month at home online. You have probably seen these ads on your favorite websites.

The next time you find one of these ads, scroll all the way down to the bottom and learn the real charges and truth about the Home Based Business..

First up, the media endorsements are all fake..

We are not affiliated in any way with CNN, WebTV, News Channel 7, ABC, NBC, CBS, U.S. News or FOX. CNN, WebTV, News Channel 7, ABC, NBC, CBS, U.S. News, FOX

And, the people like Kelly Richards and Marie Thompson featured in the ads are also fake..

And look what's hidden a few lines below. The hidden cost of the Home Based Business..

Due to the cost of production of these valuable materials, if the package is not returned within these guidelines you are agreeing to being billed a one-time charge of $39.95 USD.

Now, if readers were to click on any of the numerous links for the Home Based Business, they will be taken to a sign up page which feartures several testimonials from other buyers. Buyers like Karrie who claims she makes over $2700.00 with the Internet Wealth Starter Kit (must be the old name for the Home Based Business).

However, on the following page, Karrie is shown with a check made out to here for over $90,000.00 from a company with Herbal in the name. You would think that would be a more powerful testimonial for the sales page than a measely $2700.00, wouldn't you?

Further, no where on the sign page is there any indication what buyers are actually getting other than "a personal coach" and some "online success strategies". That and the promise of "checks rolling in".

Finally, the big red flag; The $39.95 charge warning is nowhere on the sign up page for prospective buyers. Only the $9.95 FedEx charge.

Look, if it is too good to be true, it probably is. Read that fine print carefully before buying anything online and watch out for those hidden charges.

Need Money Blog: How Do I Get Traffic To My Blog?

This very question comes up often here and on the forums I follow. There are free and easy ways to get traffic to your blog which may result in regular readers and revenue.

Generally, most blogs are started and abandoned without much fanfare. The writer has a "great idea", builds a standard form blog, writes one or two posts, finds some affiliate product to market and waits for the readers and dough to roll in. When neither happens, they lose interest and wander away to the next mindless activity.

First, I am going to assume that you have a great topic to blog about, write regular entries and enjoy writing. Further, I am going to assume that your blog is not one long list of ads and affiliate links and you live under the misguided belief that visitors can't wait to click on all your "htp://" links.

So let's get some traffic.

RSS - Do you use RSS? All blog platforms I know of are optimized to include an easy to use RSS link for syndication. Many readers will not even visit your site but will follow through RSS. I have one blog which I wrote for nearly two years before checking and finding I had over 130 followers using RSS alone. Besides using your blog's built in RSS features, download and start using RSS Announcer each time you post a new article. That will load your latest posts onto blog directories and start getting some search engine results.

Friends - No, your pals from school or work, but those wonderful millions on the Internet. "Friend" lots of people with Facebook if that works for you. But I like to use these better sites because they are haunted by other bloggers..

MyBlogLog - MBL is a social networking site for bloggers which works with your Yahoo ID. Create an account, add your blog and then start friending people. The upper tab has a link marked People. That's a good place to start. Go through the vast list of people, read their profiles, maybe visit their blog or website and then put in a friend request. There is limit how many Contacts you make a day, so max it out. Within a day or so, you will start seeing some of those people visiting your blog (MBL has a neat widget for your blog which tracks visitors, what they read and what they CLICK on. Hmmmm..). Many will write messages for you on MBL asking that you visit their blog and let you know that they visited yours, what they thought and what they clicked on. Very useful and easy to do.

BlogCatalog - Same idea as MBL, but a nicer layout and more features. You can search by subject and and find blogs similar to yours. Friend those people and start following their blogs. They will probably do the same which means some more readers for you. I visit BlogCatalog and MyBlogLog every day and add friends and blogs.

Hint: For both sites, include a nice picture for your avatar which gets visitors attentions. Depending upon your subject, this is a fast way to get interest.

Bookmarks - Setup an account with OnlyWire, Social Marker and AddThis. Write a post and start bookmarking. Some of the bookmark sites will put your blog post on the first page of Google and that results in fast organic traffic. Don't forget to bookmark your site with Google! Don't use any of those "URL Submission" sites they are a waste of time.

Digg or Reddit - I have better luck with Digg, but here's the secret. Write a argumentative or inflammatory article on your blog like "Tall people are generally smarter than short people". Post a link to the story on Digg and watch what happens. Be careful with overdoing this tactic as it gets real old after a while by Digg readers and they may ban your account. I did this with an article here and the response has been huge and fun to watch.

Finally, give people a reason to come back. Write good posts. Spell check them. Grammar check them. Invite readers to leave comments. Respond to comments. Comment on other blogs and include your URL. Don't comment spam but rather concentrate of four or five blogs or forums you regularly read and leave good comments. The visitors will come.

Most of all, stick with it. Getting 100 visitors a day is not hard, but it is harder than getting the next 900 daily visitors.

Have fun,

Need Money: One Way To Make Money Online Cheap

Read the comments to several of the posts here on Need Money Blog and the same subject comes up; "How can I make some money online?"

First, you do not have to spend money to make money online (except for your computer and internet access that technically, you could get for free for the price of a library card - but only for an hour or so at a time).
The only thing needed is some time and the willingness to work. Rather than reinventing the wheel, I have done much of the dirty work myself for you.

Use free websites and blogs. I use Blogger because it allows me to include AdSense ads on my site which allows me to make some money. There are other free sites which allow publisher's AdSense ads but read the fine print first before setting up your site.

Create a website about something which meets there three criteria..

1) Is something you are genuinely interested in. Big dollar keywords like mesothelioma won't do you any good unless you are really interested in writing about asbestos cancer.

2) Pick a topic you will write about with authority. I make money online and have spent hours and lots of money learning how (Urggh). So when I write an article believe me it has some history behind it.

3) Pick a subject which has the potential to make money. "Musings from Bob about life" might be a great time killer, but it won't make the author much money. A well researched blog about losing weight after the New Year or getting out of debt by a cash strapped college kid DOES have the potential to make some serious coin though.

Take your topic and create a well named blog on Blogger. Again, "Musings about weight loss" is a dog of a name. Instead try "Does the Medifast Diet Work? How I lost weight with Medi Fast". Your title is one way the search engines and visitors will find you.

Write some blog posts, about 4 or 5 to get started but don't publish them yet.

Instead, join Adsense and put some ads on your blogger layout. Use this blog as a template for ad placement and styles.

Research affilate programs. I use Clickbank, Commission Junction and others. Join some related programs and place some link ads on your blogger layout.

Add a statcounter to your blog. Look at the bottom right for the one I use and keep track of who visits and how they found your site.

Add some social network widgets to your site. These are key.

Go to Squidoo and create a short lens about your blog. Link to the blog from Squidoo. This will give your site a backlink and some organic traffic. Again, name the Squidoo lens correctly for search engines (you can also make some extra money from Squidoo as well. That's a neat little trick).

Go to MyBlogLog and BlogCatalog, join and add your blogs. Make friends.

Now publish your articles.

Now go to the social bookmarking sites using AddThis and OnlyWire and start bookmarking each article. This will build some backlinks and get some traffic to the site. Google Bookmarks and Yahoo are critical as bookmarking on those sites will get your site visited by the search engines within a few hours.

Write more articles and publish often. Find some like minded sites and swap backlinks. This is relatively easy with a blog because readers will visit often.

Check your stats, find out how visitors found you and keep pushing that lever to get more traffic. Run the keywords tool from Google AdWords on your site and find related keyword terms which may bring more traffic.

If you can do one of these sites and make a few dollars a month, you can do 10 or 20 sites and make more money. All it takes is T-I-M-E. If you are out of work, then you have plenty of that and this is a job. If you are smart and start making money, consider incorporating yourself to take full advantage of the tax benefits of working online.

Up front honesty - the above plan took me one year to figure out which resulted in me making some money online. With this kickstart, you can avoid that time investment and start making money in about 1-3 months. No. You will not make $5000.00 a month, but you can realistically make $100.00 a month and more from there. A little over a year ago I received my first affiliate check of $120.00 or so. That was a big thrill. Since then, it has only grown into the thousands (no lie) monthly. But it takes work and time (that word again).

So, there it is in a nutshell. Give it a try and drop me an email or comment if you have questions.

Need Money Scam: Click Money Profits

Click Money Profits is another "make money online" scam which claims buyers can make $5000 - 7000.00 a month online with Google. Read the fine print here before buying Click Money Profits.

News 6 Alerts, a fake news site, features imaginary mom Claire Thompson who claims she makes thousands of dollars online with Click Money Profits. Claire goes on to say that she needed money after losing her job and took advantage of a low cost ("less than $5.00) work at home kit which showed her how to make money online.

(Remember that claim, "less than $5.00" - it's not true).

The ad says that all buyers have to do is buy the Click Money Profits system, set up an account and start depositing checks in their bank account. I clicked on the Click Money Profits link to find out more about this product.

Visitors are taken to a website for Click Money which claims that buyers can make money "learning to use AdWords".

(AdWords is a Google product where users BUY advertisements and sell things online. AdWords ads are seen on most websites (including this one). The ads vary in cost, but the buyer is responsible for creating and paying for the advertisement. Some ads can run hundreds of dollars a day).

Using AdWords costs money. But buyers also have to pay for Click Bank Profits. How much is the program?

The hidden terms of purchase reveal the following costs..

Your initial charge of $1.95 is for the first 14 days

Then the monthly charges kick in after the 14 day trial is over..

You are ordering a $39.95 monthly recurring membership to Click Money.

And those charges will continue monthly until cancelled.

You must cancel the program to avoid further charges

To cancel Click Money Profits, buyers must send a certified letter or call the customer service number

call 800-383-2067

Click Money Profits is an expensive monthly product which allegedly shows buyers how to spend more money using Google AdWords. This information is available for less money or even for free online. Be careful and read the fine print before buying this product and others online.

Need Money Scam: Ultimate Home Wealth System

The Ultimate Home Wealth System is the latest "make money from home" scam flooding the internet this spring. Be aware of the hidden costs and fees of this product before buying this make money online system.

Again, its News 6 Alerts, a fake news site, running little ads on popular internet sites promoting the Ultimate Home Wealth System. Again, some "mom" claims she makes thousands of dollars a month, online, selling other people's products while using the power of Google, Facebook and other sites.

Potential buyers should read the fine print before puchasing this system. The links found throughout the article, take visitors to the Ultimate Home Wealth System signup page, however, there are some secret fees hidden they need to know about.

The sign up page claims that all one needs to make money is a computer, internet access and the information found in the Ultimate System. Fill out some forms and watch the money roll in! claims the ads. And within a few months, buyers can start wiping out their debt and be their own boss. All compelling statements in our troubled economy.

However, check out the fine print for the Ultimate Home Wealth System, also called the "Online Home Wealth Course" and "Social Reach Millennium Course"...

Buyers are signing up for a trial period for two days..

"we offer a two day risk trial for a non-refundable charge of $2.95"

After two days, the buyer will be automatically enrolled in the full program..

"We will charge your debit or credit card a one time non-refundable join fee of $129.96".

And then the charges keep coming..

"you are entering a twelve month membership at the price of 19.71 per month"

And there is another little fee monthly as well..

"in addition to those fees we also charge a $3.85 monthly account maintenance fee"

Buyers of the Ultimate Home Wealth System can cancel by calling 877-539-0572, but all non-refundable fees are non-refundable.

Buyers should carefully read the fine print on this product before buying. All charges are non-refundable and there is little information to support the claims made in the advertisements.
