NeedMoney: Make Money With AdSense

How many times have you read those words?

A Google Search shows hundreds of thousands of searches for this phrase and others like it such as..

"making money with Adsense"
"how to make money with Adsense"
"tips to make money with Adsense"
"how to increase Adsense earnings"

and so on.

AdSense is Google's quick to use system for web publishers to put ads on their sites and start making revenue from visitors. Publishers only make money when visitors click on ads though. So just putting ads on a page will not bring in the money; you have to have click thrus on the ads to get a check.

There are plenty of free guides and websites offering generic information on how to make money with Adsense. Most will give you solid but well used advice such as "blend your ads into the look and feel of your content", "place ads on the left upper side of the screen" and "experiment with different ad types". All good information, especially if you are new to publishing on the Internet, but old information all the same.

Adsense has gone through a number of changes. Some well known rules no longer apply (alternate ads on same page with adsense) while others have been fine tuned to protect the advertisers and their investment (pictures and other enticements near ads to encourage clicks).

Click thru rates or CTR, the golden measure of success, can be a fraction of a percent (bad), 1-3% (average) or 5-7% (very good). By percentage, we mean clicks per hundred unique visitors. Most websites have average CTR at best while others have insane CTR.

Expected revenue is another golden number for publishers. "How much will I get per click?". What Adsense pays per click is a tightly guarded secret at Google and what's more, can vary. A website with higher traffic and page rank may earn significantly more per click than a lightly traveled blog for the same advertisement.

That being said, revenue per click is the holy grail of publishers. Ads which pay more per click are desired and since ads are based upon content, naturally, publishers do what they can to generate lots of high paying ads.

Now, with all that information, how can you Make Money with Adsense?

The only advice you need:

You need pages with the high paying keyword content and lots of organically driven traffic.

Sounds easy, right? Not really. Most publishers stumble into big money with Adsense.

For instance, I have a couple of celebrity focused blogs. One article in particular discussed the arrangements of a late star's legal will. The blog article was cited on a big news site and overnight I had over 40,000 visitors to this blog. My Adsense earnings went through the roof. For three days. Then they dropped off as the story dropped off the radar.

I have another blog which reviews software. I tore into a product which I thought was overpriced and was somewhat questionable for buyers. The certain combination of unintended keywords in the article resulted in a fifty fold increase in visitors to my blog. Because the Adsense ads were related to the content on the page, I had a great click thru rate and equally high earnings. The problem? The market was limited for this product and while I still have a fair number of viewers, the actual number of visitors and ad revenue has fallen off from those heady early days.

Finding the right combination of content, high paying keywords and subsequent ads is tough for even full time publishers. The secret is maintaining high traffic regardless of specific content. That is why websites like Facebook and LinkedIn constantly earn big dollars from Adsense through tons of traffic.

To make money from Adsense, first find some small, yet high paying niches. These have been discussed here before.

Next, write plenty of original content. Make that content legible and interesting. Poor grammar and spelling won't help.

Focus on content which answers questions ("Is this product good? Is this a ripoff? Where do I find this?") or piques curiosity ("Your drinking water is dangerous. The government wants you fat. Watching TV adds years to your eyes").

Publish frequently. Each web page or blog entry is another channel which brings traffic to your site. Each is an opportunity to make Adsense money.

Can you make money with Adsense? Yes, thousands of publishers do every month. Most earn the basic 100.00 every few months while a select few make over a grand a month. The really big fish earn much more, but they are few and far between. Be ready to work and publish to get the big dollars.

NeedMoney? Making Money Online

There have been so many making money online scams lately and it really chaps my hide. Many of them are the Google Home Business Kit, Google Profit, Treasure Chest, nonsense that many good people who really want to make some extra money online are completely turned off by the myriad of opportunities online.

For starters.. would an extra $100.00 a month help you make your bills?

How to do it

First, start a blog. Blogs consistently rank higher with search engines because the content changes frequently. Blogs also encourage communication with readers and thus encourage cross linking and traffic. Websites rarely have that same affect.

There are plenty of free blogs hosts to get started. Yes, many will tell you to purchase a domain and setup a paid for blog hosting account (and they supply you their affiliate link for those services). The idea is that purchasing your own domain and hosting account builds a unique brand. And that is a good idea, if you know the brand will be successful. Most brands are not successful and if your domain/blog combination fails, you are stuck with the lost costs.

Rather, using a free blog host allows you to experiment with plans and ideas which may work or may not. Here is a list of free blogs for you to try.

Then, start posting. What infuriates me and search engines, are blogs with few or infrequent posts. The big name blogs post several times a day - how can a new blog compete with only one or two measly posts?

Ah, you say, what do I write about? Good question. If you want to make money with your blog, write about money. Not necessarily the old dead horse of making money online, there are hundreds of thousands of blogs about that. Rather, focus on smaller subjects which people would be willing to pay money for. Or have companies willing to pay for advertising on your blog.

The temptation is to write about a Big Subject which pays well. However, to be successful, focus on a smaller micro subject contained within the Big Subject.

Here are some great subjects:

Big Subject - Credit Cards
micro subject - Credit cards which pay you with incentives, cash back offers or savings plans.

Big Subject - Debt
micro subject - How to pay off a student loan, how to reduce your mortgage, how to pay off a credit card with better interest rates.

Big Subject - Auto insurance
micro subject - getting better auto insurance rates in Texas, California, Georgia, etc.

Big Subject - Lawsuits
micro subject - particular medical ailment cases such as Heparin Recall, Gadolinium Lawsuits, etc.

There are thousands of subjects you can research and write about in the space of a short amount of time.

So, you have a bunch of free blogs set up, have written several articles and now wonder what to do next. If your blog host allows it, sign up for AdSense and place some simple text ads on your site. (This is the great thing I like about Blogger, the ads can be done automatically from the Blogger dashboard).

Next, check with Clickbank for digital products which may be related to your subjects. For instance, an ebook about getting out of debt or how to reduce credit card bills and so on. Place a single banner ad for this product on your blog. It can be on the side or across the top.

Traffic

Let's get some traffic to our blog.

First, setup a Squidoo lens for each blog. Squidoo is the best single page source for promoting any subject or niche.

Then, create a HubPage. Same idea as Squidoo and just as good.

Next, join some social networks and start placing some links back to your blogs and websites. Some networks are particular about what is linked or marked. Read the rules carefully! Here is a mondo list of great bookmark links to join and use.

Next, join some directories. I have found this to be one of the most affective ways to build traffic to your blog. Webrings are also a great boost for traffic. One of my sites receives 100+ views a day specifically from rings.

Finally, the piece d resistance. Articles. Join ezinearticles for starters, and start writing and publishing articles about your area of interest. Include your blog in your bio. Remember, most article directories allow multiple personalities. No, not like Carrie, but multiple names and URLs. In ezinearticles, you can be Joe Smith writing about college loans, Betty Jones writing about credit card articles, and Carl Foster writing about medical malpractice awards for heparin dosing injuries.

Will this make you $100.00 a month? Using the above tactics combined with Adsense, affiliate sales and a few other blog ad tools like AdBrite and Kontera, I regularly earn that much and more from my blogs. No, I cannot live off my earnings, but they do help with my monthly bills.

For some, $100.00 would be a Godsend, however. Also, if you consider that all the tools I mentioned above cost - nothing - then your only expense is time. If you have been downsized or laid off, you have time available. With 8 hours a day, you could, over time, turn this into a full time job. But that usually takes one to two years. There is your warning.

In closing, you can make money online with this free strategy. There are others, but this one works for me. Good luck,

Wow! Google Profit Kit is a new scam!

May 2010 update - Google Profit Kit is being marketed again online! Read more!

These things are growing like mushrooms on the internet lately. So many want to make money on the internet and the money making scams pop up everywhere.

The Google Profit Kit claims you too can make $5000 - 7000.00 a month online by "filling out online forms" and "Watch the money roll in!". Same claim as Google SEO Supervisor, Google Home Business Kit and all the rest of these "make money online" scam products

Fact is, most of these products are the same.

Checking today's website, we click on the link for "Google Profit Kit" and land on something titled "Easy GOOGLE Profit". The fine print at the bottom describes several disclaimers for something called Google Treasure Chest. The products apparently are one in the same.

Google Profit Kit or Easy Google Profit has the same high financial liability of the other similarly named products. More reasons to avoid each and every one of these products!

The initial shipping and handling charge of one dollars and ninety seven cents

Followed by..

After seven days, if you choose not to cancel, you will be billed your first monthly membership fee of seventy two dollars and twenty one cents

Let me help you with that - $72.21 per month. What a bargain!

But wait! There's more..

You have also unlocked a fourteen-day trial and twenty one-day trial to the Fraud SafeLockID and GrantSpring for just $19.95 and $14.95 a month thereafter (shows as "SafeLockID" and "GrantSpring") should you choose not to cancel.

Tack on another $35.00 a month. Over $100.00 in valuable scam merchandise!.. I have no idea what these other products are, but I bet they are just as hard to cancel as Google Profit Kit is.

On that note, don't try and charge back your order with your bank or credit card company. The owners of this site may report you to the "Internet Crimes Bureau". I could not find out who these people are. They may be referring to a state crime investigation unit or maybe they are only trying to scare you.

They do offer a toll free number to contact if you want to cancel and to be fair, someone did answer the phone. However, in order to cancel you have to return the physical goods sent with your order. Numerous victims of this product have reported never receiving any "kit" in the mail. Bet that makes it hard to get your refund.

Once again, in closing, there are numerous complaints about Google Proft all of these other products and no one, save the "testimonials" online seems to be making money - only losing it. Avoid Google Profit Kit and all the other like products. They are scams.

Here's a real opportunity to make money online - Click Here!

This site does not sell the products in question here. If you purchased this product and would like a refund or have questions about the product, please return to the website you purchased the product from and read the Terms of Service for company contact information. NeedMoney: Who is Corey Peters

Go to almost any website, and you will probably see one of these three ads:

"To lose weight follow this one simple rule"
"My teeth were yellow! Until I did this"
"I am so happy I lost my job! Now I make 7K a month!"

Sometimes, all three are in the same ad block.

These programs must work because I see those ads everywhere.

With the economy being what it is, lots of people are searching for information on how to make money on the internet. Often, they run across an ad like the third one above; "I make 5K on the internet every month!" of something very similar.

Nearly every one of those ads runs back to a list of similar sounding products.

Lately, I have written several articles about ads for scam programs like Google ATM, Google Cash Machine, Google Home Business Kit, Google Treasure Chest and so on. Many of the ads have featured a (fictional) character named Corey Peters.

Corey Peters is the fellow in the tuxedo feature prominently in the ads. He claims he was an entry level sales person with a manufacturing company. Recently married, he and his wife were thousands of dollars in debt until he discovered the incredible benefits of the Google Home Business Kit... or the Google ATM.. of Google Cash Machine..

Also, Corey notes he was originally from Dallas, Texas... or was that Fort Bend, Oregon.. or was that Rochester, New York.. it only matters where YOU are. You see, the ads change based upon where the searcher clicks on them from.

One poster noted online that Corey's picture is actually tagged "nick" and "nickswedding". There is a good chance Corey does not exist anywhere. He is a fictional character with a very real photo - only the photo belongs to some poor unrelated, young man who put his photo online.

Here is the deal. Corey Peters may or may not be real. But Google Home Business Kit and Google ATM are scams, junk and not worth your time or hard earned money.

If you want to make money on the internet, try researching "article marketing" or "affiliate marketing" or "internet marketing". There are plenty of free products and downloads available which only require an email address. And there is no small print or monthly fees.

This site does not sell the products in question here.
